The island of Tenerife has a wide variety of endemic flora and fauna, as well as several different landscape structures and almost 45% of the island is protected.

Majestic volcano, which peaks as high as 3718m. Surrounded by the sound National park, the volcano offers landscapes and magnificent sights. The Teide National Park is the most visited national park in the whole of Spain.

Masca: The picturesque village of Masca has preserved its authenticity. Its narrow streets shaded by white houses, descend at the bottom of deep and impressive tortuous gorges (Barranco de Masca) leading to the ocean after more than 2 hours of walk

 

Puerto de la Cruz – Valle de la Orotava: In the north of Tenerife, this valley is an extraordinary natural beauty. This popular tourist area is made up of the districts of Puerto de la Cruz, La Orotava and Los Realejos. This area is famous for its magnificent beaches, its gastronomy or its andicraft.

Giant Cliff los Gigantes: It is an ancient volcanic mass, the processes of erosion have modeled to its current landscape, forming giant cliffs on the coast.

 

Paradisiacal beaches 

Tenerife, it is also 400 km of coasts bathed by the Atlantic Ocean.
Tenerife's numerous beaches are fine examples of its great natural diversity. In the south there are mainly golden sand beaches, while in the north you can find beaches with shimmering, black, volcanic sand. Also in the north, there are a number of natural pools formed by ancient volcanic eruptions producing lava flows that reached the sea.

Sea canoeing: The variety of crossings and routes along the coast are fun and adventurous. Even the most expert sailors can enjoy the coast and sea around Tenerife, one can paddle past beautiful spots that are inaccessible by land, enjoy beautiful scenery and disembark on small, hidden beaches.

Golf: There are nine fantastic courses to play. Golfers can also enjoy spectacular views of Mount Teide which can be seen from some of the courses. On others they will be teeing off next to the Atlantic Ocean with the sound of the waves breaking in the background.

Climbing: The island of Tenerife is an absolute must for fans of traditional climbing. The huge number of volcanic formations that have eroded over time have left rugged rock faces, facilitating the use of protection, creating a unique area for this type of climbing.

Paragliding: Tenerife has more than 40 different launch sites for paragliders from all over Europe to enjoy. The great variety of flying areas located near one another plus an exceptional climate that allows flying almost every day of the year are the two great attractions of paragliding in Tenerife.

>Gastronomy
Traditional ingredients of the Tenerife gastronomy are Bananas, cheese, gofio, chestnuts ,fish  and honey. The most popular and typical dishes such as: ropa vieja (traditional canarian stew), ribs and potatoes, rabbit in salmorejo (a traditional canarian sauce), tortilla ( traditional Spanish omelette) and shark which are always accompanied by a large variety of local wines.

This carnival is the best known and celebrated festival on the island, especially in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital.  Over several days, brightly coloured costumes and lively carnival-goers flood the streets of the city with an extraordinary festive atmosphere. The "fiesta" in the streets of Santa Cruz starts on the Friday before Carnival Tuesday (shrove Tuesday) with a spectacular opening procession, which reaches its height during the night: thousands of carnival-goers in fancy dress dance and enjoy themselves until the early hours of the next day.
